Well this was a tough one! I rarely take photos of things I regret…but this was the day of our wedding anniversary in JULY, a couple of years back and I had decided we should go to the beach, take the dog for a walk and have a picnic that I’d prepared.
The weather was pants, the dog ran away, and the picnic all but blew away… all in all not one of my better ideas!!!
It was cold, miserable and we all came home in a bad mood!!!

This photo looks more like a painting!
It didn’t feel like a painting….it was the most miserable day..but I know what you mean, it’s beautiful.
It is beautiful but I can imagine the wind off the sea!
Yes it was a little blustery for Mid July!! But very beautiful!
Once I went out on my boat to stay the night. It had been stormy all day but I still went. That night it go so stormy that lightening was hitting all around our boat. I thought it would hit us. It sizzled on the dirt beside us. I know we all do things we regret after the fact. You picture is of a beautiful place. I hope you found your dog.
Yes we found him, a coastguard came along and asked if we’d lost a dog as there was one about 3 miles up the beach!! That’s my boy!! Glad to say he’s older and wiser now!!
What a beautiful photo, though! I don’t think any of my Cornwall photos came out anything like this. Where was this taken?
Taken on the south coast, West Wittering…it’s a fabulously long beach.
Just added to my to-do list! Preferably on a fairer weather day 😉
You took a lovely photo though – a beautiful snapshot of a not quite perfect day 🙂
Ha Ha so true!
It’s a beautiful photo, so I guess the day was worth it!
Most definately and we’ve been back a couple of times since and it’s been glorious!! So all’s well that ends well!!

Of course, the irony is that you captured a beautiful, calm and welcoming scene. Only your story underscored the lousy weather. Great post. 🙂

Yes looks calm…but it was blowing a gale, the more I think of that day the more I laugh at it ‘now’!!!

Sometimes our well laid out plans will end in disarray, due to no fault of our own. You were all able to leave ok, and if your marriage survived – then you’ve all won. No regrets there, but I do understand your mood then. Great post! 🙂
I know….thanks for your kind comments:)

I think we’ve all had days like that. At least it wasn’t one of those ‘long term’ regrets that take years to overcome.
Yes and fortunately there are few and far between!!
…but my goodness, you got a fabulous shot!
Thank you!!
